Well, I think it depends on the size and amount of candy. If you have HUGE candy bars the height of Mr. Painter, but you only have about 15; you should only give out one. But if you have 20 large bags the height of Mr. Painter with small candies that can fit in your fist, then you should give out more.
Depends.Do you want to be the cool house on the block and give kids a few larger pieces and sugar rushes?-OR-Do you want to be responsible and give smaller pieces? Sorry, just wanted to give options... :P
You know those little tiny candy bars that are called "Fun Sized?" If you have those, I would give out 3. If you have "King Sized" bars, only give out 1. If the size is in between those two, then I would give out 2 pieces.
I'm torn. Part of me is saying that you should give out either one big bar/bag of gummies or at least four. After all, Halloween is the only time of the year that kids are allowed to have candy for dinner, and you don't want us children to go hungry right? :) (If anyone read the Sunday comics, my views were expressed exactly in Sally Fourth.) Yet part of me is saying that you should be reasonable and only give one or two pieces of candy. But then again, you don't live within two blocks of me, so I could care less. But it's all on how you want the kids on your block to view you. You could choose the sweet lady aproach, in which you give children genoruos amounts of candy and happy little comments on their costumes, while sweetly smiling the whole time. (P.S. coming from you that aproach to Hallween would be scary in that of itself.) Or you could try the scary witch aproach, in which you wear a witch hat, give one tiny piece of candy to each person, and cackle before they can run away. But whichever aproach you take, in the spirit of Halloween, DO NOT GIVE CANDY TO PEOPLE WITHOUT A COSTUME OR PEOPLE WHO LOOK LIKE THEY SHOULD BE IN COLLEGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The average trick-or-treating age is about 1-15, and thats stretching it. One year I was giving out candy with my mom, and two teenagers came up, and they were bothh wearing jeans, and the girl was wearing a blue shirt and the boy was wearing a pink shirt and they claimed to be dressing as each other. All they got from us was a closed door. So thats my advice! =)
If you want to be the "House to Go To" then give out either a handfull of small candies or one king sized candy bar. The good thing about giving a hand full of small candies to kids is that you get rid of the candy very fast and then you can do what ever you want to after you run out. If you do run out quick, you should close your binds and turn the lights off so most people won't knock. But if you buy the king sized candy bars you should only buy some so once you finish giving out the candy bars you can turn your lights off and do something maybe in a part of your house where no one can see the lights on. AND DON"T ANSWER THE DOOR IF YOU DON"T HAVE ANY MORE CANDY!!!!! If you want to just do what all the other people do, then just tell the kids to pick TWO candies of their chose.
One of our neighbors is a dentist, so he gives out toothbrushes, glow sticks, and those vampire teeth thingys that you put in your mouth. :( ( But it also helps! :D)
Actually..note: I don't celebrate Halloween..BUT I do have some ideas. =P So..maybe I would say like 1 piece. Yeah, that's all. I mean, children are going to get cavities from all these candy. And soo hyper. Which is probably not a good thing in most cases. I'm not a big fan of candy myself..but..yeah, 1 piece because you're being nice just to give people candy. :)
Because this is candy we are talking about its a pretty serious topic. There are a few of approaches you can do when handing out candy. You can be the usual person and say "Hello! And what are you?" then after they tell you you give them 2 fun sizes or 1 king size. You could also be the "Let's get this over with type" where you open the door and give them candy then close the door. Or you could be the "Let's talk forever type" but i think the title explains itself. Last you could be the person who gives out nothing. If you don't celebrate Halloween then I get it but if you just don't give out anything for no reason, NOT COOL. If you are this type no offense but if your too lazy to go the door at least leave the candy outside with the sign that says take one. I strayed a little of topic but the amount you should give is 2 fun sizes or 1 king size. (P.S. This is my opinion but don't by Almond Joy, a lot of ppl I know don't like them) (^^) Jack-o-Lantern!!! Happy Halloween Muhahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My parents taught me that a small handful is the best amount to give out, because the candy is just about finished by the time everyone is done trick-or-treating. -Malcolm
I think if you have small, fun-size candy, you should hand out 2 or 3 per person. If you have regular size candy bars you should hand out 1 piece per person. If you're not the kind of person who wants to open your door for trick-or-treaters, you should leave a bowl of candy outside with a sign that says "1 each".
A lot of people give out one but its how many u want to give

ReplyDeleteOMG I DIDN'T REALISE HOW LONG THAT WAS!! So much for a comment.
DeleteWhen my brother was 12, he looked older and taller like he was a senior, so someone only gave him 1 candy, and me a handful. :)

ReplyDeleteMy mom thought that you should give out pencils and toothbrushes. I say NOOOOOOOOO to that.

DeleteI say 1 big one and 4-5 little ones. MY MOM says anything in a 4 finger pinch, unless you know someone(aka:ME).

DeleteAlmondjoys.. Are my worst enemy. D: I keep getting them for the candy award. It is sad. XD
DeleteBut I like your..jckolantern. XD (^^)
I love almond joys, especially the dark chocolate ones.
DeleteI say that you should give out at least 3 pieces of candy to each person you can.

I would give out 3 candies per person. I believe that is a good amount.
ReplyDelete1 large, 3-4 fun sizes. If it is friends or neighbor kids, my mom doubles it.
ReplyDeleteI would give out about 3 piecies of candy per person.
ReplyDeleteYou should give out two handfuls per person. If you run out, oh well. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. O, you could give two pieces of candy per person.

My parents give at least 1 handful to each kid. Then, when they start to run out, they give 1 or 2 pieces to each kid.
