QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, AND/OR CONCERNS
Today's introduction to the Holocaust was difficult for many of us. Please feel free to question, comment, clarify, or relay a concern on the topic. Be sure to discuss with your parents, too!
Be sure to DO something extra nice tonight for your parents or siblings. You may blog about how it felt to help someone rather than blogging on our topic of concern.
Just in case you were wondering....the picture has nothing to do with our blogging topic, but I thought we needed something cute and sweet to look at. Also, you might want to go to the class website and play the Grooveshark playlist; it is very lovely.
i wish people wouldn'd kill people like that. I almost cried during the powerpoint.

what is this D: isn't that like a sad face?
Deletei think is
DeleteI must be too young, I didn't get emotional at all.Though it is really depressing and astonishing, I don't think like that, I'm just happy it got done with and now we all have equal rights.=D
ReplyDeleteI was almost crying. The Holocaust was such a sad thing, and I am pretty sure we still have more to learn. If anybody will sees me crying, you would understand.

To clarify...if you didn't feel particularly bad today that is not a BAD thing. The topic may be too grown up OR there is a type of person who looks ahead...and works on things s/he has control over.
ReplyDeleteWhy is adorable puppies the picture here?
Deletedid you read the tiny writing? it is supposed to make ppl feel a little bit better.....to remember that there are cute things in the world.
DeleteLike me! XD Jk.
DeleteI think that discriminating against someone else just because they have different beliefs or are part of a different religion. Just because someone else has different beliefs than you doesn't mean that you should treat them any differently than you treat people of your religion.
ReplyDeleteThe Holocaust was so awful. I do not get emotional about many things, but this one goes deep down. To think hundreds of Jews died because one man disliked their way of life is so horrible its almost beyond human.
ReplyDeleteThe Holocaust is so awful! Why would anyone WANT to do that?
ReplyDeleteThe Holocaust was horrible. my question is why??? i mean why would you want to ruin the lives of thousands of ppl just because they have a different
ReplyDeletereligion than you!!!
Hitler had to have had mentall problems. My dad said that before he became all powerful, he was a short, unpopular guy, who couldn't find a job, and that he was constantly beaten by his father as a child. He even published a book about that part of his life called My Suffering. Soon after, he made the rest of the world suffer. (just thought I'd tell you)
DeleteThis topic was very emotional to me.When I think of that I imagine my loved ones being taken and never seeing them again. But it also makes me feel better knowing that won't happen for along time,or never again.
ReplyDeleteI strongly disagree with the prospect of killing anyone. I believe everyone deserves the right to live. That's why the statement "Give me liberty, or give me death!" inspires me to stand firm on basic human rights. Also, that statement is one of the main basis of America. Nobody has to die for the sake of others relief. As in, nobody should ever be persecuted because of discrimination.
ReplyDeleteYour right.

I completely agree with Darin. My dad tells me stories and if Hitler wouldn't kill himself, I would be very much affected.
ReplyDeleteThe Holocaust was terrible. I don't know why they would kill hundreds of Jews. It's just not right to go and kill Jews or other people when they didn't even try to kill you.
ReplyDeleteTo me the holocaust is so bad that I never cry from it. I just think about it. I almost wish that I could realize it, cry, and move on. I don't want to forget it though. It's sort of complicated. Once I start thinking about it, the rest of the day I just can't stop thinking about it. It just sorta takes away my perkyness. I mean, if it was 1942 right now, if I lived in Germany or Japan or someplace like that, my brother would be dead, my parents would probably be dead, even I probably wouldn't last long. Whenever I talk about it with my family though, the conversation of war usually ends with someone referencing to the song, "I hope the Russians Love Their Children Too". I've never even heard it but it sounds like how I think about it.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe something like the Holocaust is true. The Nazis were total bullys! They were picking on a few groups of people just to make a perfect race??? If I could ask Hoitler one thing, I would ask, "How would YOU feel if you were a Jew and put in a concentration camp???"
ReplyDeleteI selled Hitlor wrong :)
DeleteYou also spelled spelled wrong. :)
